We are looking for a Senior Consultant Financial Consolidation to join our Professional Services Center of Excellence (CoE) at our Madrid office.

In this role, you will lead and deliver complex financial consolidation projects for enterprise customers, helping them design and implement modern, scalable consolidation and reporting solutions using Board technology.

As a senior member of the team, you will combine deep functional expertise in group consolidation (IFRS/local GAAP, intercompany eliminations, currency translation, statutory reporting) with strong consulting capabilities. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, guide best practices, and contribute to the evolution of our Financial Consolidation CoE.

You will report directly to the CoE Director and collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, Support and other consulting teams across regions.

Key Responsibilities:
CoE Oversight & Implementation
  • Contribute to the Global Consolidation & Reporting (GCR) Center of Excellence by promoting standards, delivery governance, and best practices.
  • Review and validate key implementation deliverables (data model, consolidation rules, mappings, test packs, runbooks, and training materials).
  • Support configuration and validation of consolidation processes including:
    • Consolidation perimeter definition
    • Ownership structures and minority interests
    • Intercompany eliminations
    • FX translation and CTA
    • Journals and adjustments
    • Audit trails, controls, and reporting
  • Provide hands-on support during critical project phases (UAT, go-live, first close cycle).
  • Drive reconciliation activities and variance resolution during stabilization phases.
  • Develop and maintain reusable CoE assets (templates, checklists, standard test scripts, and playbooks).
  • Enable and coach delivery teams and partners on consolidation standards and solution best practices.
Support & Ticket Resolution
  • Triage and resolve L2/L3 functional support tickets related to:
    • Data loads and integrations
    • Configuration and calculation rules
    • Security and workflow
    • Reporting and reconciliation
  • Conduct structured root-cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders regarding issue resolution.
  • Escalate product defects to Engineering and validate fixes.
  • Document solutions in knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides to improve scalability and reduce recurring issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial consolidation consulting or corporate group consolidation roles.
  • Experience implementing EPM/CPM/consolidation software solutions.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and/or local GAAP (e.g., OIC).
  • Ability to design and validate consolidated Balance Sheets, P&L, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Strong understanding of intercompany eliminations, currency translation and CTA, equity reconciliation and minority interest, journals and adjustments, auditability and reconciliation process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (additional European languages are a plus).
  • Willingness to travel as required for client engagements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Board GCR.
  • Previous experience in a Big Four firm or Finance Transformation consultancy.
  • Official CPM platform certifications.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 16 (Lease Accounting).
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks.
  • Exposure to XBRL/ESEF regulatory reporting requirements.
Working Model
  • Location: Madrid (Spain).
  • Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days of home working per week.
  • Occasional international travel depending on project needs.
