We are seeking a commercially driven Renewal Manager to own and execute the renewal lifecycle for a portfolio of medium-to-high complexity customer accounts. This role is critical in driving Net Revenue Retention (NRR), reducing churn risk, and ensuring predictable recurring revenue growth.
As the commercial lead of the renewal process, you will partner closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Sales, leading strategic renewal planning, negotiations, and risk mitigation. You will bring structure, foresight, and strong commercial acumen to every renewal opportunity while ensuring long-term customer value.

Key Responsibilities

Renewal Ownership & Execution
  • Own the end-to-end renewal lifecycle across assigned accounts
  • Initiate and lead renewal processes 6–9 months before contract expiration
  • Develop and execute strategic renewal plans to ensure timely and successful outcomes
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, contract terms, and multi-year agreements
  • Strategic Renewal Planning
  • Build tailored renewal strategies based on account health, usage trends, and commercial history
  • Drive multi-year renewal conversations to improve retention and revenue predictability
  • Identify pricing optimization opportunities aligned with customer value
Risk Management
  • Proactively identify churn and downsell risks and lead mitigation strategies
  • Partner with CSMs to execute structured save plans
  • Engage in executive-level conversations for at-risk renewals
  • Reconfigurations & Revenue Optimization
  • Lead contract reconfigurations, migrations, and pricing transitions
  • Execute revenue recapture initiatives where applicable
  • Support complex renewals with customized commercial strategies
Expansion Support
  • Identify and close small, transactional upsell opportunities during the renewal cycle
  • Collaborate with Sales on larger expansion opportunities while maintaining renewal ownership
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Customer Success to align on account strategy and customer health
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Operations to structure compliant agreements
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and renewal pipeline visibility in CRM systems

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in SaaS renewals, account management, commercial roles, or procurement within a subscription-based business
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills, with experience managing pricing, contracts, and multi-year agreements
  • Proven ability to manage complex renewals involving multiple stakeholders and mitigate churn or downsell risks
  • Data-driven mindset with strong forecasting discipline and experience using CRM/CPQ tools (e.g., Salesforce, DealHub)
  • Experience working in international environments with cross-functional collaboration
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels, including executives
  • Professional fluency in English and German or French (additional European languages are a plus)
