We are currently looking for an IT Support Intern to join our IT team in Chiasso HQ. 

In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, support and systems management within a dynamic and international environment. Covering networking fundamentals, operating systems, and user support tasks, you’ll develop technical skills with a focus on cybersecurity, system administration, and cloud computing basics.

Learning objectives:
  • IT Infrastructure: gain a high-level understanding of our IT systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Shadow IT team members to observe and learn how different systems interact and support business operations.
  • Documentation & Policy Compliance: learn about IT policies, security protocols, and documentation standards. Gain hands-on training with our ticketing system, supporting internal documentation efforts for compliance and security.
  • Basic Troubleshooting Support: handle basic IT support tasks under supervision, such as password resets, connectivity troubleshooting, and responding to common user requests.
  • Networking Fundamentals: receive training in networking basics, including IP addressing, DNS, and network devices. Participate in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment like routers and switches under guidance.
  • Operating Systems Management: learn to manage and troubleshoot Windows and macOS systems, including updates, user configurations, and permissions.
  • User Support and Helpdesk Assistance: assist with setting up workstations, configuring peripherals, and resolving user issues related to applications, logins, and hardware.
  • Cybersecurity Basics: gain introductory knowledge in cybersecurity principles, including threat detection, malware identification, and phishing awareness. Learn to manage antivirus tools and follow cybersecurity protocols.
  • System Administration: get hands-on with server management basics: software installations, user account setup, data backups, and permissions management using Active Directory.
  • Cloud Technology Exposure: receive training in Azure cloud fundamentals, including storage, virtual machines, and file backup management.
  • Automation & Scripting: begin automating basic tasks using PowerShell, such as creating user accounts and assigning roles, to enhance efficiency.
  • Advanced Networking & Security: explore advanced networking topics such as VPN configuration, firewall rules, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Project Participation: actively participate in IT projects, including system migrations, network upgrades, and software deployments, contributing to planning, implementation, and review.
Qualifications:
  • Educational background in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, networking, and common operating systems (Windows preferred).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ticketing systems is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluency in English.
